USF At FSU Football Game Moved To Sept. 12

Bulls and Seminoles to play second Saturday on ESPN in 2015

TAMPA, JAN. 29, 2015 – The University of South Florida’s 2015 football game at Florida State has been moved to Saturday, Sept. 12 and will be televised on ESPN in an 11:30 a.m. kickoff the schools announced Thursday.

The universities agreed to move the game, originally scheduled for the fourth week of the season, Sept. 26, to the second week of the season thereby eliminating an early open date and moving bye weeks deeper into the schedule.

USF’s 2015 non-conference schedule now consists of games on three successive weekends, Sept. 5 vs. Florida A&M, Sept. 12 at Florida State and Sept. 19 at Maryland, to open the season and a game Oct. 10 vs. Syracuse. Kick times and television arrangements for the Bulls other non-conference games as well as the Bull’s American Athletic Conference schedule will be announced at a later date.

As previously announced, the Bulls will host Cincinnati, Memphis, SMU and Temple in conference action in 2015 and make road trips to UCF, UConn, ECU and Navy while not facing Houston, Tulane or Tulsa. The Bulls will play eight conference games in The American, which expands to 12 teams in 2015 with the addition of Navy.

The Bulls are slated to begin spring practice on March 10.

USF returns 14 starters (6 offense, 7 defense and 1 specialist) for Taggart’s third season at the helm. The Bulls will return their top five tacklers (9 the top 12 overall) and players that accounted for 73 percent of the team’s tackles in 2014. USF returns 100 percent of its rushing and passing yardage from 2014, including 1,000-yard rusher Marlon Mack, and 50 percent of its receptions and receiving yards.

The USF Football program completed its 18th season and 15th at the FBS level. The Bulls have made six bowl appearances, including every season between 2005-10, and have four bowl game victories. USF has produced 14 All-America selections, 23 NFL Draft picks and reached the No. 2 ranking in the Associated Press Poll in 2007.

ding-ding! Managed to get in that plug for the 2007 team, well done. Too bad we have no similarity to that team...in any way other than the name of the university.

Love the OOC games, good for revenue & visibility. Just hope we can avoid embarrassment on nat'l TV, we have such a long way to go after these last 2 seasons...sigh.

1130 AM in Tally in September sounds awful. Friday night would've been way better.

Did you just say you think we'll beat A&M by 30? Dude, we don't know what an automatic win is anymore.

CRAP!

That certainly throws a monkey wrench into my vacation plans.

Also, play 3 in a row, then take two weeks off?

We'll probably have a conference game in there.
