Why aren't we hearing more about this kid? After watching his film I just can't understand why he isn't getting more attention and offers. Hopefully USF goes after him as I think he could be a great catch and heir to Mack.

Not rated.  Good size, but only offer is defunct UAB?

2 star on Scout, and some other offers.

Might be able to skate by on his so-so athleticism, but also read an article that said his grades were poor and he planned to go juco.

Thanks WWMJD, I figured there was something more to it. He's def not a burner but the kid has great footwork and vision, plus he always keeps his feet churning and plays with aggression. I bet we hear his name again sometime in the future if he can keep everything together.

That's one of the sad facts for a ton of great Florida players and most people will never even see some of the best talent this state produces because of grades or off the field problems. Some of the best players I ever played against fall in that category and basically become "The Goat's" of Florida football, or in one case "Gator". Would have loved to see him play college ball. The crazy thing is that doesn't even include the south Florida tackle football players that drop out in middle school. What could've been!

Definitely tons of kids that have the talent to make it, but for a whole host of reasons don't have the ability to hold things together either personally or academically... especially from south of here.  Agreed, it's a real shame, but always hope the kid's sake that he manages to put everything together in the future.

Also forgot to mention that it sounded like, in this instance, his coach might have been doing him a bit of disservice:

"Joseph met with Naples head coach Bill Kramer last Thursday, when Joseph presented a list of Big Ten Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference schools where he'd like to play. But to get in to a premier school, he'd likely have to attend a junior college for two years and transfer, he and his coach decided." and later on "...If I get a chance to go SEC, I'd want to go probably Tennessee."

Not sure he's got the talent for that to begin with... he was originally committed to UAB. Could just be positive gloss of local journalism, but hope for his sake that his coach didn't lead him to believe that going Juco could put him on the path to end up at Ohio State or Tennessee, because that's probably not happening.  Think it's more likely that those quotes are probably just trying to be positive in the face of being put in a tough spot.
