We are going to spread the offense so far apart so it will be flowers one on one against their guy. Surely we can beat one guy.

Not sure we are even going to the spread, so this whole "new offense" isn't even for real right now, and may not be

All of the reports have said we would be. I would expect to be. I don't think Harlan would allow that news to be released without it being so.

Furthermore, I don't know if you guys ever check out 'crootin, but they're trying to bring spread-type guys in. And we do have Flowers, who we've learned is not really pro material, but does have the speed that could translate to success in the spread.

Taggart used to play in the Spread, its not like he hasn't had experience there before. He himself was in a Nebraska- I type spread, which used to be successful back in the day. Now, while he's a power man all the way, the Nebreaska has power running built into it with the fullback being used (so we can still use Swanson). furthermore, they could always go into things like the Pistol, which would still include passing and some pro-esque runs (power-O) while giving us the ability to throw the option in.

We may not really have a QB going forward, maybe more of a glorified half or running back with the ability to make decisions as to keep it or hand it off.

Flowers still has to show he can throw the ball.  Without that, no offense is going to work very well.

While I half agree, there are a lot of potent offenses out there who don't throw much. I'm hoping we pull a QB in this class who can throw at least somewhat decent, though I'm not holding my breath. I'd love another BJ.

I didn't say he'd have to throw that much, just that he has to be able to.  Even the Georgia Tech QB can throw.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
