A fairly easy win for the ladies today, 67-47.  Still a lot baskets missed which should have been made.

Courtney Williams was recognized before the game for being the 7th woman in USF history to go over 1,000 points with the rest of this season and next to go even higher.

A bit concerned about Courtney.  The last 4 games or so (2 at home and maybe 2 or 3 in the Virgin Islands) she has struggled with her shooting.  As someone said today at the game maybe it is better she goes through this now rather than in conference.  But here is hoping that she figures it out.  She hit her first 2 today and thought OK, here we go.  But then didn't score, I believe, until the 2nd half.  May have ended up with about 10 or so.  Ferreira and Taylor connected from long range.  Jesperson played very well today.  Double digit points.  Heard that Kate Weber is in the hospital with an undisclosed illness, not an injury.  Get well Katelyn.

As a whole they didn't shoot the ball very well against a much lesser defense than St. Johns.  Probably in the 35 - 40% range.

Hopefully she's just holding back to get the newbies to step their game up...

From what I understand, what Courtney did over the off season to increase her vertical leap may have something to do with it. Right now, she gets tired legs it shows in her accuracy at times. It should bet better as the season goes on.

Nice seeing Mama_Bull today, too.

You must be new to WBB...Courtney is the 21st not the 7th!

I wasn't there for the announcement, so I'm talkin outta my ass here, but maybe she's the 7th to do it as a junior?

Maybe what she needs are some leg massages. Any volunteers?

Of course it's great to see a win, but it definitely wasn't pretty by any name; a lot of missed opportunities vs. an 0-7 team including a 3-on-1 fast break we couldn't convert, missed passes, teammates fighting each other for rebounds and losing the ball out of bounds. These are the mistakes you don't see in UConn or South Carolina.

Nonetheless, going 7-3 (possibly 8-3, UNCO is a tough 6-2 team) with this nonconference schedule is fantastic; we could have easily gone 2-8 against these very talented teams. We should do well enough in the AAC to be confident in March.

Sorry, but that is what was announced in the dome.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
