Look, Leavitt started the program with walk-ons (not walkers!), and he was no X & O genius.

Now, we have more talent than we ever did in those first few years.

And I really believe in my heart that the QBs on our roster are better than when we started football. Heck, Flowers was a 4-star QB! (All I'm saying here is that we have a lot more than back in the day when it all started.)

Okay, so we didn't get a new head coach, which is sensible for a non-SEC school.

But apparently things are going to change, both the offense and the defense.

Our conference is soft as butter, so I think we could walk right out of putridity and into a decent product on the field very quickly -like next season.

Yes, I blame everything on the coaching and the philosophy for how bad we were this past season.

*Change the philosophy and the coaching and we become health again.

*If we get good coaching. Doesn't need to be great, just good.

I'm very hopeful!

C'mon, football, open your eyes and walk out of the ICU with me!

GO BULLS!

He got offers from Big 10, SEC, ACC and AAC teams including Alabama. None wanted him as a QB.

With the wrong people, we dig our selves deeper

With middle ground people, we get slightly better/worse or stay the same.

Flowers was not protected to be a qb in college. The 4 start qb thing is a bit misleading. Other schools conditioned their offers on him playing a different position.

I can't for the life of me remember the guy's name, but, I think our QB in our first game was a South Carolina transfer and he was pretty good. You could argue that Leavitt got to a bowl game with Pat Julmiste and it's possible that one of our QBs can be better than him with coaching that plays to his strengths.

Otherwise... carry on...

... Chad Barnhardt... it came to me.

I have always believed we were very close to getting to 8, 9, 10 wins. Just the sheer accumulation of talent makes me believe.

So basically we have a 4 star recruit playing a position where he's a 2 star. Brilliant.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
