Go the HS route and try to grab: Joe Kinnan? Robert Weiner? (for real this time) There's a lot of turnover right now, where should we be looking? Also, will there be people afraid to come and turn down the job as this may be CWT's last year unless he shows improvement? I'm afraid anyone of note that has been paying the slightest bit of attention, or does any research at all on our teams the past couple years, will stay away. IMO it was a mistake to fire the coaches we just did.

Whose mistake, though? I'm still not sure whether this was CWT's last gasp at keeping his job, or Harlan telling him to make big changes.

I think this is the key point. We'll be able to find guys who are out of a job to fill the positions, but will any GOOD coaches come on board knowing that Taggart might be out after next season? Sure, multi-year contracts will entice a lot of coaches, but I can't see Harlan handing those deals out.

But Muschamp isn't coming here. Might be able to grab Magee, would be a great hire.

I am sure he is making close to that 1 million mark at Arizona. Also he would not go from a P5 to a G5. We could poach a D1 Off coord that makes less money. Think MAC or CONF USA coaches.

If CWT made the decision, or Harlan told him to do it, if it fails, CWT is done, not Harlan.

Article I read said he only made $300,000 in 2012 and he is co-coordinator with Rod Smith.

If CWT made the decision, or Harlan told him to do it, if it fails, CWT is done, not Harlan. Sure it matters. It clues us in on whether Harlan expects CWT to hire an OC that will actually upgrade and run the offense, or whether this is just CWT wanting to appear like he's "doing something" to save his job. I agree that either way CWT ultimately takes the fall, but I'm interested in knowing the who and why these decisions were made.
