What does LSU have to do to get Ron Cooper back as defensive backs coach? He left to be DB coach in the NFL for Tampa Bay, then the head coach got fired. So he went to USF. He's improved the secondary for USF from previous years. Even with our big time recruits, the defensive back play has fallen off since he left. And Patrick Peterson loves the guy and recruits love Patrick Peterson.

So... What do we have to do to get him back?

If Ron Cooper is the reason we're playing 10 yards off the WRs they can have him, but if not keep him for recruiting. Plus he's proven to be a good coach especially at LSU so.

USF currently has two former NFL coaches. At Oakland, CB coached the worse defense in Oakland history, by total yards given up and at Tampa Cooper DBs almost set a new NFL record for most passing yards given up.

Seems like cooper goes as his DC goes. Isn't it Jon Chavis at LSU, aggressive and good. Schwann and his DC, crappy. Bresnahan, crappy, er, well whatever.

Cooper seems like a guy who if he got a shot at DC would play man to man and have fierce DBs. Seems he is at the mercy of Bresnahan and his Cosh/Snyder cushion schemes.

I read an article that said Cooper never got any positive praise from Barber, something he's done for every position coach he's ever had.
