no big effort. new school prez wanted to build a medical school..needed $$$.  No real support for football. Lucky to draw 5-6k when we were going deep in playoffs and had future pros on rosters.

 

BTW - in response to  smazza above - not very competitive 50 -30 and 42-23 :FIREdevil: :FIREdevil:

I'll be there.

And yes, I remember playing Hofstra in football, twice.

We lost both games, by pretty wide margins and in '99 Hofstra made the FCS playoffs.

They killed our winning streak at home

Hofstra holds a special place in USF Hell for disbanding before we could exact revenge. Hope the basketball team wallops y'all tonight!!

We knocked Hofstra out of the NCAA softball world series, if that counts as revenge.....

This one really worries me.   We just played two road games, one of which we won in overtime against a decent UAB team, one of which we lost to a team that almost always makes the NCAA tourney in NC State.   This is a big test to see if Coach O can get his team up again after only one day off, against a mid-major that has played some solid ball this year.  

 

The bottom line to me though is turnovers.  Against NC State we only had 10 and nearly took them out.  Against UAB we had 24 and nearly lost.   Keep control of the ball and we should win.

re - softball - we played in a super regional final a few years back 2012 - - winner went to the college world series.  you had a stud in the circle - Sara ???.   1st game 2-1 in 11 innings HU..second game 2-1 in 9 innings USF. 3rd game 2-1 USF
