Oscar Fraustro posted a 9th place finish this week on tour.  I believe this is the highest finish for a former Bull ever.  Made 141k.

I didn't think the PGA started until January in Hawaii

What's a PGA? Is that like practice before the Master's?

That changed recently.

Nice.

Hopefully, we'll get a few more guys on the PGA tour in the near future. We currently have some very talented players on the team. USF Men's Golf is ranked in the top 25.

Since I posted that USF MG signed three new players, which I mentioned in its own thread.

One of them, Oskar Bergqvist from Sweden, has A world amature Golf ranking of #139.

In addition to regular events played around the world, college players get WAGR points when they play in intercollegiate tournaments.

So, by comparison, Chase Koepka, who is considered our best player, is WAGR #211.

Some other current USF players: Rigel Fernandes WAGR #223. Trey Valentine WAGR #251.

No wonder why our new coach thinks Oskar Bergqvist will be an immediate impact player. It wouldn't surprise me to see him on the European Professional Golf tour down the road.

We sometimes make light of the weather, but that is a major factor in attracting European golfers to Florida universities. This is a quote from former UCF golfer Greag Eason who just graduated from there after earning a WGAR #3 ranking and is starting his pro career out on the PGA Canada tour:

...Aside from the quality of coaching, extra funding and excellent facilities, there is one other factor that Eason says makes America more desirable to a golfer than the British Isles: the weather.

“You’ve got so much more time to prepare and practice throughout the whole of the year,†says Eason.

“Our season is so short back in the UK whereas over here I’m still in a T-shirt and shorts in January.

“So not only do you have more time but you want to go out there and practice instead of being stuck inside and looking at snow on the ground.

“The weather has been everything to me.â€

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
