I'm asking what everyone else thinks. I am also wondering if there is any apparel trashing UCiF that i can buy?

Not unless we beat Memphis too. Even then, can you really call it "successful" based on what we witnessed this season?

To me relatively speaking yes that's a successful season unless ucf beats themselves and we just happen to outscore them.

In the case you mention, we would be bowling.. So yes, that would very clearly be a successful season!

This.

I predicted us to be 5-7 and i still don't consider 5-7 successful.  We are a young team with a lot of question marks who were in for a rough season and that's what it's been. I find it impossible to call a losing season a success,

I would count it as successful if we won the last 2, but the truth is we have lost 12 straight games against teams rated in the top 150 of Sagarin ratings. We are scraping out victories against FCS mid-level teams. We are not in good position to beat Memphis and UCF although crazier things have happened. If Flowers at QB is the future we won't be bowling for a while.

OP, IMO yes it would at this point. That would mean at least 5 wins with one being the full-of-themselves kanigguts. I could sleep on that just fine.

The Kniggits lost to UConn. A win over Memphis would be much bigger if we are looking at measuring progress

Would a win over UCF be enough to consider the season "successful"?

No, one single win would not do that.

You'll notice that we racked up losses against P5 teams (whereas wins against them move the needle towards success).

A four win season is a losing season, no matter how you spin it (e.g. that being 100% improvement over the rock bottom '13 season).

A five win season is still a losing season, no matter how you spin it (again, being an improvement from the '13 baseline).

A six win season, which would constitute upset wins over both Memphis & UCF could be labeled successful in that it would be just marginally enough to be bowl eligible.

I trust the coaching to screw the pooch the rest of the year.
