Any chance we can just call them Bulls? Never saw the need to identify the program as the "Lady Bulls" - sounds demeaning from an athletic perspective as they put in just as much time on the practice field as the men. If not, let's call the guys the "Manly Bulls".

No excuses not to fill the house every night.

Except, you know. It's WBB...

I assume they're called "Lady Bulls" because there's actually no concept of a Bull which is a female. Does anyone call UConn the "Lady Huskies"?

I don't believe calling the Tennessee WBB team the Lady Vols has hurt their program  in the least.

Yep and calling the UConn Women's Basketball team the Huskies has hurt them right...not the point.

Americans always trying to be PC...makes me laugh all the time. But at least Bulls is something this country’s idiot sports reporters can pronounce.

Interesting that you think adding "Lady" is demeaning from an athletic perspective ... Isn't Mrs Sheriff an ex-college athlete?

I don't really understand your point here. Are you saying "Lady" is a negative term in general? I'm just not seeing how it could insinuate that female athletes put in less time than male athletes.

Lady is not an adjective, like "manly" is. Lady is merely a title of respect. We could call the guys "Lord Bulls" or "Gentleman Bulls", I suppose.

Funny, that this same discussion has come up various times on this board over the years and nobody ever mentions that. LOL

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
