Could any performance by Bench have secured him the job?

Clearly the answer is no, and that is all there is to say about it. I believe that Bench could have led us to a comeback victory and White would still start next week.

I want to know what the board thinks.

Good question. If you believe in results, then yes.

Cwt hates him for some reason. He could throw for 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns, and cwt would name white the starter.

Maybe if he won the Lombardi, Heisman and NFL MVP, he might get a look on the scout team...

Maybe he could have fumbled more or over thrown the deep out.

Yep. I hope that Harlan gets this and has a chat with him. I am seriously doubting I want to see cwt back next year in any capacity but recruiter.

I just don't understand it. Maybe if coach would just explain what the hell was going on in his mind when he looks at this performance then I can at least have a clear understanding of what is going on. Until then I see one person doing one thing, and another person doing another thing

Taggart named White the starter at the beginning of the year.  Going to Bench now would be admitting he was wrong last year and this year on the starting QBs.

For better or worse, he is married to White.  Maybe they share a room on road trips...

I think it was the pedo stache, I really don't blame cwt for not trusting him. He kind of looked like he would offer White candy to get in his van.

I agree with you, it would show he cannot coach. He's a great recruiter, but poor coach
