One of the warning signs of a bad coach is when he starts blaming the players...

I'm on the running board, with one foot out the door of the bus.

Don't worry, it's easy to jump off the bus when it's on blocks with a foot of grass grown up around it.

I have said this before. Winning breeds winners and losing breeds losers, and right now this team is full of players who have been losing for the last 3 years. Even their squeeker wins against FCS and the bottom 10 of FBS are nothing that inspires a winning attitude. This team is talented and has started some games well, but when they get punched in the mouth they curl up in the fetal position and wait to lose.

and Taggart from TBO

“Now we need to define what it takes to win. We can’t just talk about it. We’ve got to make a play when a play is needed. We need a good call when a good call is needed. We need a good decisin when a good decision is needed. That’s on me. And we’ve got to do these things for the whole game. Learning how to win is not just saying it. We’ve got to define it.’’

again from Bresnahan in the Times

"When you come out in the first series of the second half and you've got (ECU) at first-and-20 and then first-and-30 in the first drive, and then they score a touchdown, that's unacceptable," Bresnahan said.

"And I start with myself, look in the mirror and say, 'What can we do better to get our guys to come out of the locker room and play with the same intensity?' Because they played lights-out for the first half in Wisconsin, lights-out for the first half last week, then we give up a series of plays."

You guys have it out for Taggart. It's quite obvious you see only what you want to see.

LOL funny how that was left out....

In my defense, those quotes above aren't from the article I read.

Just don't fall onto the players that he threw under the bus.

Maybe some more aggressive play calling in the 2nd half might help foster the attitude of go out and win rather than hang on for the win, but that's just me being crazy.

Funny thing about losing, everything that the coach says sounds stupid.

Think it is possible that Tags got more involved with the play calling in the 2nd half of those games?

Yup. The no-pressure zone doomed us last week in the second half. That's on the DC.
