TAMPA

On more than one night during the worst winter of his life, Anthony Collins would sit in front of the TV in his off-campus apartment, living vicariously through the college or NBA guards slashing and spotting up on the screen.

Sometimes, he'd break down in tears, not so much from the throbbing knee but the aching psyche. Only two years after his burst and ball distribution had propelled the Bulls into unprecedented NCAA Tournament realms, the point guard couldn't walk the ball upcourt without wincing.

His left knee never seemed the same after summer surgery to remove an inflamed bursa sac. Then, it developed tendinitis. After only eight games last season, coach Stan Heath shut Collins down.

Stan did the right thing benching him, hopefully the decision pays dividends this year. Happy for AC.

14-15 will be tough, we've three players with experience Collins, Allen Jr., and Perry. Our only senior will be Allen, Jr., and he's JuCo transfer. I think 15-16 will be a telling year for this squad.

Best news of the week - he's healthy/ready to go and he's developed a mid-range jump shot.

Gotta love Heath for basically sacrificing his job for the health of AC.

Heath  one time

Again, I give him props for doing the right thing, but AC wasn't doing anything for the team or Stan's job by being on the court.

This ...It was pretty obvious it wasn't a healthy AC and 3 more months of whining about him from certain corners would have been brutal.  B)
