CJL deserves another shot somewhere, I say good for him to be considered. He'd do a better job than Weiss IMO.

Talk about worrying for the sake of worrying, he's on someone's "consideration" list and you're already talking about him hurting our recruiting? Me not think right time, kemosabe.

The article mentions Bernie Parmalee.  Is that the same Bernie who played RB for the Miami Dolphins?  If so, good for him.  He would make a good head coach too.

I hope that Leavitt gets another shot. I always liked him.

I am just glad he did not get the FAU job. I would not want to compete directly with him in recruiting. He really knows the Tampa bay area.

Non alums probably give more $ than alums.

I think this speaks more to the relative youth of USF, and not particularly to USF alumni. It takes generations to get USF graduates in prominent positions in both the public and private sectors.

If I ran fau it fiu, I'd throw serious cash at Leavitt

the dude is a program builder

A couple of our nutjobs here claim it isn't so, because he hasn't accepted an offer to go somewhere and build a program again.

He can build a program - but he can't really take it to the next level... He is the best to take a team from nothing to at least 3 conference losses per year.

If you're basing this statement on the one HC job he's ever had, then I'm assuming you believe we should fire CWT right now since it's proven he can't win more than 7 games.

If CWT has the same issue in 4-5 more years, sure... CJL had 5 years of USF in conference play (C-USA and Big East, but always had 3+ conference losses... seems to me he hit a plateau... and the university had problems with recruiting to the point of creating an academic committee to prevent losing scholarship from reduced APR.

It would have been different if progress was being made.  If CWT hits a similar plateau, I can understand firing him as well.

I wish him luck.  If Bobby Petrino can get another chance, why not CJL.

It's easier to overlook the questionable part of his past, which is must worse than CJL's IMO, with Petrino's on the field success ...

Petrino was never falsely alleged to have been the most powerful man in the building.
