USF opponents went 2-6 this week... generally bad games all around the AAC.

Western Carolina 35 - Furman 17
  > Catamounts used  a balanced attack.  Turnovers prevented the spread from being bigger.
  > Next up: @ Presbyterian (Sat @ 2:00)

Maryland 37 - Indiana 15
  > The Terps controlled the game throughout, holding the nation's leading rusher to 75 yards below his season average.
  > Next up: vs Ohio State (Sat @ Noon)

Florida State 56 - North Carolina State 41
  > The Wolfpack were up most of the game, won the turnover battle, but could not stop the defending champions.
  > Next up: @ Clemson (Sat @ 3:30)

Temple 36 - Connecticut 10
  > The Huskies actually outgained the Owls, but 3 turnovers and 3-13 on 3rd down as well as 14/28 passing made for a long afternoon.
  > Next up: BYE

East Carolina  - BYE
  > Next up: vs Southern Methodist (Sat TBD)

Texas State 37 - Tulsa 31 3 OT
  > The Bobcats led most of the night, allowing the Golden Hurricane to tie it up and force overtime.
  > Next up: @ Colorado State (Sat @ 3:00)

Ohio State 50 - Cincinnati 28
  > Cincy had 3 TD passes of 60, 78, and 83 yards... but Ohio State had 700 yards of offense. This game had some close moments, but Cincy shot themselves in the foot too often.
  > Next up: vs Memphis (Sat TBD)

Houston - BYE
  > Next up: vs Central Florida (Thu @ 7:00)

Texas Christian 56 - Southern Methodist 0
  > Mustangs have been outscored 202-12in 4 games.  That should tell you how bad they are.
  > Next up: @ East Carolina (Sat TBD)

Mississippi 24 - Memphis 3
  > The Ole Miss (first team) defense has not allowed a TD this season, and held Memphis to 103 total yards (including a .7 yards per rushing attempt).
  > Next up: @ Cincinnati (Sat TBD)

Central Florida - BYE
  > Next up: @ Houston (Thu & 7:00)

My own personal "who cares" AAC rankings for week #4:

1. East Carolina (3-1, 0-0)
2. Temple (3-1, 0-0)
3. Cincinnati (2-1, 0-0)
4. Memphis (2-2, 0-0)
5. Houston (2-2, 0-0)
6. Central Florida (1-2, 0-0)
7. South Florida (2-3, 1-0)
8. Tulane (1-4, 0-1)
9. Tulsa (1-3, 1-0)
10. Connecticut (1-4, 0-2)
11. Southern Methodist (0-4, 0-0)

The AAC is 18-27 after 5 weeks.  This week, the AAC went 0-6 in non-conference games.  Oh for six -- but at least five of them were against P5 teams.

conference is a lot worse than i thought it would be this season.

I thought Houston, ECU, UCF would be leading the line but it looks like ECU is the only major player. If they falter, another G5 team may get the bowl slot.

Tulsa losing to Texas State? Terrible.

Good summary. That Cincy game was a lot closer than the score would have you believe into the 3rd.

I love this segment, Jim.  If I could be so bold, one thing to add that would be cool would be to show our foes' new records after the recent win/loss.

Appreciate this topic weekly.

ECU is easily the best team in the conference so far this season. The AAC is a toss up though and i think Cinci, ECU, UCF, or dare i say USF can win it. If we can play with the effort of yesterday and get rid of the crushing mistakes, we can win some ball games. We are lucky to have ECU and UCF at home instead of on the road.

So was the NCSt game!

I'm very interested to see how ECU does against SMU. We'll get to see if SMU is as bad as the numbers, and if ECU is worthy of that #22.

ECU and Temple are the current favorites of this conference... AAC is very underrated
