... Why do our most recent two coaches seem to have such a hard time winning games?

Good question ... especially when both had decent success elsewhere .... burial grounds tendrils stretching out from the Dome?

Didn't someone on this board pound the drum all of last decade that "just anybody" could take over as the coach of USF and win?  LOL!

USF athletics has never been consistently good at anything else, why would football be different?

when Leavitt had benefit of d 1 status and than big east(bcs)

holtz(bcs)

they both had a chance to build a powerhouse

neither could field a team to compete for a conference title!!

cwt now has a tough job since usf dropped down a to non p5 status-----however we should still be able to compete for an aac title.cwt should get 2 more years.it makes no economic sense to fire him

usf is not playing for the big boy championship and we need to realize it

yes mission we had a chance to be great during Leavitt years but that window is now closed and will not reopen unless we go to a p5 conference

Cincy and UConn won conference championships and they're still in a crummy conference. Cincy may have won the title or a share of it more than any other team. Yet sad sack Syracuse goes on to ACC.

There's more to it than a conference title.

It's extremely simple. We rested on our laurels. Both USF and the Big East were mismanaged. We are playing true freshmen because the cupboard is so bare.

We are going to suck for another 2 years everyone. But there IS NO MAGIC BULLET. This is what we have to go through. Enjoy the good seats and watching these talented freshmen grow up.

Cuse likely got in due to its basketball program, and maybe some legacy.  Maybe a market, tho' Cuse is a pretty bleak area.
