Where he failed was surrounding himself with poor assistant coaches and coordinators, especially on the offensive side. It wasn't like we gave him the kind of budget he would have needed to reliably hire great assistants. He made some great hires (Wally Burnham) but consistency is tough at the salaries he was able to negotiate through Athletics.

I have seen way too much quitting the last 3 years Oh yes they did. Anyone remember the Sun Bowl - that is a classic example of Leavitt's inability to prepare his team. Leavitt teams always played on the edge of out of control - lots of stupid mistakes, undisciplined penalties. He was great at coaching mediocre team up to win a big game or two - but I am not sure his style would ever translate into consistency. I don't know that we could ever when a conference championship with CJL.

Losing has become par for the course now and if we were to pick the top five game of cjw 15 game career with us 40% of those would be losses; if we didn't try to get down just to his best 80% of his games end in an "l". For fans that previously expected wins at home this just isn't acceptable. that game was at home. thank god army beat ucf the week before or we would have been their first win in like 20 games. that game was embarrassing to watch FYI...Army has never played UCF. Army's opponent prior to USF in 2004 was Cincinnati, which Army beat to end their 19 game losing streak (Army was 5-49 in their previous 54 games prior to UC and USF in 04. After beating USF in '04, Army lost their next 11 games). my bad. thanks for the correction. UCF=University of Cincinnati Football!

We need to find someone tainted to get that. Maybe a wife beater, drunk, or sex offender.... I felt CWT was moving in the right direction. I do not know what his hard on is for White, or why he did not play Bench this game. I hope the pathetic half speed play was some anomaly. CWT did tick me off last week when he said he told the guys "its not about winning, it is about having fun". Sorry coach, if it was about fun we would have built a waterslide instead of a practice facility. WTF equates someone fudging their resume, or an adulterer with assaulting someone? Read a newspaper. I don't know that we could ever when a conference championship with CJL What I saw with the Sun Bowl game was an Oregon team that ran all over us. Their signature hustle did us in. That the team wasn't prepared to play against Oregon was obvious. My major complaint with CJL was the outrageous number of penalties the team incurred. Arriving to games unmotivated and flat, hardly a resounding endorsement.
