Attendance was pitiful last year and Taggart found a way to get the top recruiting class in our conference so the lack of fans will not prevent Taggart from recruiting talent. I think he's got a real point with the students. They should show up and at minimum the end zone stands should be filled every game, but outside of the students I disagree. If someone decides they've got something better to do with their day than spend 4-8 hours of their weekend at a USF game who is 4-20 over our last 24 games then I think it's ridiculous to shame them. I would agree that more fans could/probably would help as far as recruiting, but I don't think the correlations is as direct as he is making it out to be as far as fans showing up and our program finally getting things turned around.

If an alumnus would rather support another university then shame on them (or f'm if you like).

I don't encourage this after one or two bad seasons, but when things are systemically wrong (as they certainly were here in the recent past) it can be ok to check out in support of a larger cause. .... I stopped giving money to USF Athletics (except volleyball) as a protest. I didn't buy season tickets either. If he didn't do it after one or two bad seasons, when did he do it?? Reality is, if you truly care about the USF football program, you don't withhold its' lifeblood unless things reach a disaster level of Biblical proportions and it hadn't ..... unless you're one of the spoiled teenagers our fanbase has been compared to. Looking forward to getting to Ray Jay, and hopefully pulling the upset (sucks that a home game v NCState is an upset, but we're 2.5 pt dogs, so let's win it). Looking forward to seeing Mack live, and (gasp) rooting AGAINST local Jupiter football star Jacoby Brissett.
