USF opponents went 5-5 this week... with ECU and Maryland having the best games.

Maryland 52 - James Madison 7

  > Starting QB came out flat; JMU rushed for 100+ yards.  Could have been 70-7.

North Carolina State 24 - Georgia Southern 23

  > The Wolfpack had to come from behind, with two TDs in the 4th quarter against the transition FBS team

Brigham Young 35 - Connecticut 10

  > If anyone watched the game, it wasn't this close.

Louisiana State 28 - Wisconsin 24

  > Wisconsin took the early lead, and have a great RB.  Their QB was a little suspect (8/24 for 50 yards and 2 interceptions).

East Carolina 52 - North Carolina Central 7

  > The AAC's best QB threw three TDs and almost 300 yards; The Pirates rushed for 200+ yards.

Tulsa 38 - Tulane 31 - 2 OT

  > The opening game was sloppy for both teams; but Tulsa won on the arm of their QB (438 yards 4 TDs and 2 INTS).

Cincinnati - BYE

Texas-San Antonoio 27 - Houston 7

  > O'Korn started his sophomore season with a big slump 21/43 204 yards, FOUR interceptions

Baylor 45 - Southern Methodist 0

  > SMU had -24 rushing yards on 25 rushing attempts; never got to the red zone against Baylor.

Memphis 63 - Austin Peay 0

  > The Tigers took care of business against an overmatched opponent. Other than 300+ yards rushing, the stats are not that impressive.

Pennsylvania State 26 - Central Florida 24

  > The Knights switched QBs at half-time and made a game of it... but could not tap into the luck from last year, losing in the 4th quarter.

Things I saw:

NC state is beatable. Thwy suck just as bad as us. Former UF QB Jacoby Brissett is the same mediocre guy he was at UF.

Uconn ugh.

Wisconsin has poor run defense.

Nice recap!  Hopefully this is a weekly post

AAC seems to be a little all over the place.  Looking forward to seeing how wk 2 fares

We play some bad bad football teams the two weeks following Maryland.  We've got some chances there

Thanks for the recap.  Gives me a little hope that maybe there are some Ws on the schedule, assuming we get things together on our end.

Also, seeing Jacoby Brissett mentioned made me hungry for beef brisket.  Will have to pick up one and slow cook it on NCSU gameday.

Are there 5 more wins for us on that list?

1 down 5 to go! (for those of us hoping that we go bowling)

Yea that is exactly what I was thinking.  Same with Louisiana State, I think Jim is trying to trick people.  Sure, Wisconsin's QB was a little suspect....he was playing LSU in basically a road game in Week 1.  When is the last time a QB had a good performance against LSU?  It is pretty safe to say that we are toast against Wisconsin.  Let's just hope that Mack can get a little bit of yards and keep the clock moving.
