However he was 3rd team class 6 A last year which is pretty good. Staff saw him today a day liked what they saw athletically so here we go. Lots of these guys are so close in talent, that it's possible a 2-3 star outplays a 4 star. Hoping Taggart & Co. have that eye, and we get some fortunate pick ups, too. Combine that with the fact that not every single recruit has to be a game changer... you also need guys that are relatively safe bets to work out as at least a role player (even if they don't have a high ceiling). Def POY on Treasure Coast The Big 15; Treasure Coast Area Top Football Prospect class of 2015 and 2016 Posted by Maurice J. Smith Sr. on April 30, 2014 at 11:55 AM comments (2) Each year Next Level Sports Scouting puts out a ranking of the area top prospects heading into the Spring and a final ranking after the Fall season has concluded. Here's this years list which includes a underclassmen ranking as well. The Big 15 Top Seniors c/o 2015 and sophomores class of 2016 OL Reche Thomas 6’2-310 Vero Beach – He’s a very quick footed athletic OL who just flat out bullies defenders, he’s a dominant, ferocious road grader; his punch at the point of contact is as good as you’ll find at the HS level. Best suited to inside as a guard at the next level but wouldn't be surprised if some teams saw him as a interior defensive linemen. Needs to learn to lock on and shuffle with speed rushers and finish them. Plays the game with an unparalleled passion for an OL. Any OL coach would jump out of their seat after watching his film. HIGHLIGHTS OLB Tyler Horstman 6’3-225 Vero Beach – kids a really good football player, plays with outstanding effort, pursuit and leverage. Wraps up and Finishes tackles, His length his an asset, he sheds blockers with quickness and instinctively has a nose for the ball. Don’t know if he’s a LB or DE. Can he play in a 3 point stance? HIGHLIGHTS ILB Nico Sawtelle 6’1-215 Jensen Beach – This is a very enthusiastic LB who tackles everything on the field; east and west, north and south. Sawtelle is a prototype ILB, his instincts and ability to track down and diagnose plays is unparalleled. Has a versatile skill set with great hands (best on the team according to his head coach), he strikes and finishes ball carriers aggressively while in pursuit. Heading into his senior year he will be a three year varsity starter. Overall Sawtelle’s a lunchpale type of LB, reminds me of Michael Deeb of the 2013 class from Plantation American Heritage. Best suited to play Mike LB or Will. Sawtelle is a pretty good long snapper as well. HIGHLIGHTS DT Dominic Jackson 6’0-275 Treasure Coast – Kid has been an impact player his entire career from the defensive tackle spot. Jackson exhibits natural football instincts and he embodies all the qualities of a defensive tackle, toughness, passion, quickness, and the ability to finish plays violently. Jackson has the skills and talent to be the top prospect in the area when all said and done. HIGHLIGHTS OL Marcus Norman 6’5-250 Sebastian River – Norman is a very long and lean OL prospect who has good upside. The best skill Norman possesses is his ability to bend his knees which is a huge plus for guys of his stature. He showcases solid aggressive traits but lacks the punch and strength to stalemate defenders thus far in his brief career. His upside is good. HIGHLIGHTS RB Emmanuel Reed 5'7-190 Sebastian River – this kid is lightning in a bottle, once he presses the hole he can smell daylight, his vision and quickness are elite. Reed displays the explosiveness necessary to excel and garner the attention of FCS/FBS schools. His frame is a bit concerning reminds me a lot for 2014 Vero Beach RB Jason Pierre but a little bigger. Reeds skill set is tailored for today’s college offensive systems. HIGHLIGHTS WR Nehari Crawford 5’10-165 Fort Pierce Central – His raw skills are off the charts. He’s a natural catcher of the football with fluid transitional movement skills, His best attribute is his desire to compete. Those skills need to be on display on a more consistent basis on film, he definitely has too continue improving his strength and perimeter blocking. HIGHLIGHTS RB Dan Fillhaber 5’11-190 Martin County – very strong physical runner, ceiling is high, this kid is going to be a steal for any program. Fillhaber is a every down back. He catches the ball extremely well and runs north and south with great pad level. He also displays solid open field speed and good transitional change of direction skills. Fillhaber has to have a bounce back senior season after rushing for over 900 yards and double digit TDs as a sophomore. HIGHLIGHTS DE Chris Favoroso 6’3-215 Jensen Beach – it’s evident that Favoroso plays with great leverage and balance, considering he’s a 2x state champion wrestler. His skill set puts him in the hybrid category considering has played WR, TE and DE. Ideally a defensive scheme that allows him to rush the passer would fit him best. His length, punch, pursuit, and ability to lean and bend off the edge makes him a candidate for teams who look to apply pressure. However he may be better suited to play H-back or TE at the next level. HIGHLIGHTS ILB Blake Lucky 6’3-210 South Fork – Blake isn’t lucky, he’s instinctive and productive; Over 300 tackles productive in his career. He won’t scare you with his athleticism, but his hands, his pursuit angles, and pure determination to make a play is what sets him apart. He’s a legit 6’3 tackling machine. He's a really good football player. HIGHLIGHTS QB Jordan Watkins 6’1-185 Fort Pierce John Carroll – the south paw is a very prolific QB, his footwork and mechanics are evidence of a player who has worked extremely hard on his craft. He throws receivers open plus he has a good release and deceptive athletic ability. The level of competition will be brought into question but I really believe this kid has the skills to compete at the FCS level. HIGHLIGHTS Hybrid Antonio Jones-Davis 6'0-190 Vero Beach – Jones is a undersized LB with exceptional instincts and strike ability. He sacrifices his body for the love of the game, kid plays fast and extremely aggressive. He's exactly what college coaches look for especially to defend against spread offenses. He possesses good enough speed and transitions very fluidly when dropping into coverage. His ideal position at the collegiate level may be that of a bandit or strong safety. HIGHLIGHTS DL Robert Parent 6’3-250 Martin County – has the measurable but needs to improve his snap quickness, strength and overall use of hands as a DL. HIGHLIGHTS CB Courtney Mimms 5’8-160 Fort Pierce Central – has a slight build but plays as if he’s a 6 foot corner. Very aggressive, good tackler, with solid ball skills. HIGHLIGHTS DB Jon Magloire 5’10-175 Saint Lucie West Centennial – kids a big hitter, solid athlete who has to have a breakout season after have 3 ints as a junior. HIGHLIGHTS Underclassmen 2016 OT Stewart Reese 6’5-300 Fort Pierce Central DE Patrick Bethel 6’3-245 Vero Beach LB Greg Simmons 6’0-215 Fort Pierce Central Ath. Brock Miller 6’4-200 Fort Pierce John Carroll Jameson Pierrlus 6’3-165 Martin County DB Omari Cobb 6’3-180 Treasure Coast LB Brian Carter 6’2-220 Vero Beach Saint Edwards OL Ted Hessing 6’5-260 South Fork DE Anthony Knighton 6’3-205 Fort Pierce Central Edravious Knowles 5’10-175 Fort Pierce Central http://www.nextlevelsportsscouting.com/
