If he's got a committable offer this early, they must have liked what they saw.

The University of South Florida has gained a significant amount of steam on the recruiting trail over the past couple of weeks, landing verbal commitments from three star's Brett Kean, Armunz Mathews, and now Mitchell Wilcox. Wilcox, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end out of nearby Tarpon Springs (Fla.) High School, is intrigued with the opportunity to perform at a high level less than 30 minutes away from his home in front of his friends and loved ones. "(I like USF's) great location and it's close to home," Wilcox said. "I love the coaching staff and they like me at tight end and I like tight end. At the moment, it's the best option for me. They were excited and pumped. I spoke to (head) coach (Willie) Taggart directly." Wilcox choose the Bulls over scholarship offers from the likes of Miami of Ohio, Ball State and James Madison. In 2013, Wilcox hauled in six catches for 100 yards, while racking up 23 tackles and six sacks from his defensive end spot. Wilcox becomes South Florida's fourth commitment of the 2015 class.http://southflorida.scout.com/story/1413590-proximity-leads-wilcox-to-south-florida?s=

That said, I'm trusting Taggart over rating sites. Especially knowing if a bigger school offers, his rating will increase. Taggart does a good job of retaining commits. I think he's only lost a few in 2 classes. If anyone has seen him play, that'd be cool.
