@TBTimes_Bulls: The @USFSoftball team's 5-inning, 17-1 loss tonight at Florida was the worst in the program's 30-season history.

And the setting records continues. I guess we're not a softball school anymore.

Very surprising. I thought women's softball was one of USF's better sports.

Coach E didn't pitch Sara Nevins - which isn't a bad thing IMO. We are going to see UF in the regional. Letting her pitch in a meaningless game could very well come back to haunt USF come post season time. Florida's hitters are very good when it comes to adjusting to pitching. Why let them have the opportunity to see Nevins anymore than necessary? Nevins has had her struggles previously versus UF, but never like what was experienced by our other pitchers today. We'll lick our wounds and will be fine going into the weekend. Don't read too much into the game other than the fact that UF is still a very good program. It's us and them in Florida - only one of us will survive the regional and advance to the super regionals.

Agreed...and a 17-1 loss sucks, but it's still just 1 L in the column.

UF has stomped us twice this year...softball seems to be a bit down this year. Hey, at least they are still making the postseason...

They spotted us a run?  Wow they are confident. ;)

Sara has been touched up a little more than normal but she still dominates a lot.  Our hitting actually appeared to be better as I watched early in the season.  But, maybe, like baseball, it was the competition.

Lol. Guess I worded that wrong.

We started the game's scoring with a solo HR putting us ip 1-0.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
