Survived the McCullum era we will get through this.

Might not be too many scholarship players next year and maybe even fewer fans around to watch.

Let's see what Antigua can do.

For me, this is not just the usual fallout from a coaching change. This is another symptom in a continuing pattern of failures by the athletic department. You can blame Stan Heath, you can blame the kids, but the reality is the program is going back to square one AGAIN and, for me, under a coach that I have no confidence that he can get it done. I'm not saying he won't, I'm saying there's nothing that gives me confidence that better days are ahead. If you see it, you're just holding on to wishful thinking, because there is no track record to show it. The exact same thing goes for football. Being an assistant to John Calipari and Jim Harbaugh doesn't make you John Calipari and Jim Harbaugh. And you'll never see me bragging about recruiting class rankings. The only thing that matters is on-field performance. I don't want to argue with fellow Bulls. That's not my aim. I'm just a guy who - in the past - has been as close to the program as you can get. It's painful to see what's happening and I can't pour my heart and soul into it anymore. I did that for years. Again, Brad will vouch.

I don't get it. The two major sports are under going a transformation ... The Athletic Department itself is under going a transformation. Are you saying these changes shouldn't have been made? Why are you leaving NOW??

And I do agree with you wholeheartedly about the bragging about recruiting. It's great to do as a placebo in the offseason, especially after **** seasons but it means nothing until it translates into wins ... and Stan is apparently a perfect example of that. CWT has apparently done a great job of getting talent here but the proof will still be in the pudding. COA and gang are apparently working their asses off to get the talent here on a short notice but even when/if they do, it won't mean a thing until it produces wins.

This is actually a pretty exciting time for USF Athletics, in a edge of your seat type way, so I really can't imagine walking away right now.

I saw this coming, I even mentioned some of this players transferring if Heath got let go. I honestly didn't think Egbunu would leave, I think that is a big loss. He wasn't great on offense, but he played hard and his Defense was something we really needed. If perry is staying, I hope he is hitting the Gym this summer improving on his defense becuase last year he was a fouling machine in foul trouble every other game. At this point we only have 2 big men left and Jordan Omogbehin is not very good, but I think he can be a decent player if some one can condition him and work on his mobility.

Nothing will match the trepidation I felt heading into that first year in the BE with a walk on starting at point guard against the, arguably, premiere hoops conference in the country ...

Do they not realize wherever they go they will be starting from square one?

Like mentioned on page one, it really makes you wonder what kind of attitude Heath was instilling in the players.

They quit on the court, and now they are all quitting the team. These guys are weak.

I hope coach O replaces them with guys who aren't quitters.

...like transfers from other schools?
I see extending my logic to all transfers would mean the incoming transfers are quitters too. One or two transfers from a team is more understandable, but we have like half of the team giving up on their teammates and not even giving the new staff a chance. Weak.

It's not weak at all. You can't have it both ways. By your criteria, Canty is doing the exact same thing our guys did, giving up on his teammates ... in fact, by YOUR thinking, Canty's worse because he's quitting on more teammates ... unless there's also a mass exodus from Marshall.

Giving up on Marshall is acceptable.

Giving up on USF is not.

@SKIPPYWALNUTS: I'm mad AF in Tampa. I'm ready to go home tomorrow !

This isn't going well.

And no, I'm not following him on twitter. This was retweeted by someone.

This one is going to hurt. Egbunu might have been the most talented basketball player to ever come to USF.

I wonder if the Roccaforte departure has anything to do with this? I recall a lot of players were basically pushing him for head coach.

Get ready for a rough year unless we suddenly ball out in recruiting the next few weeks.

Have to agree about Egbunu. I have never been more excited better players potential.

What a train wreck. USF athletics is a complete embarrassment. I've been a diehard, bleed green & golder since 1984 - NEVER been called fair-weather - but that's officially it for me. I'll check back in around 2018 and see if anything has improved with football, men's basketball and baseball. Anthony Collins will be next and the 2014-15 Bulls won't be competitive with Hillsborough Community College.

You are really going to quit on the Bulls because half the team was apparently a bunch of soft quitters.   I will keep supporting them but right now I feel more embarrassed for anyone that was supporting the Stan Heath regime.   After seeing how many and how fast these guys are quitting I think the decision to fire him was 100 percent justified, and I am excited to see what kind of USF BULLS that Antigua can bring in.

So just curious. If you're a die harder since 1984, why did you wait until March, 2014 to become a member of TBP?

You can ask Brad about my track record.

You wouldn't be DaveG as the DaveG who ran the old rivals site....heh?

Big loss to USF fandom if it's true....or actually...big loss for USF if any fan since 1984 decides to give up.

Either way....it's not easy being Green nowadays.

Thanks Doug!

Sorry, it's Perry.
