Lafayette HIgh School forward Jackson Davis will have another busy week in his recruitment, with three in-home visits scheduled starting Monday night.

Davis' mother, Ginger, said new Rice coach Mike Rhoades will visit the family on Monday night, followed by Butler on Tuesday and a new major team of interest, Florida, on Wednesday.

Davis was verbally committed to Rice before reopening his recruitment late in the season, sparking a ton of interest from schools nationwide. After coach Ben Braun resigned, Rice was eliminated from Davis' pared-down list last month, but Ginger Davis confirmed that Monday's home visit is a sign that the Owls are still in the running. Rice assistant Carlin Hartman, who helped recruit Davis while on the staff at Columbia, will accompany Rhoades.

As for Florida, the Gators have shown interest in Davis since the reopening of his recruitment, but they have yet to offer a scholarship. Coach Billy Donovan and assistant John Pelphrey are expected at Wednesday's home visit, and Ginger Davis hopes to hear a decision about an offer.

Adding Rice and Florida, Davis' list is now Alabama, where he just officially visited, Butler, where he unofficially visited a couple weeks ago, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, Creighton and Columbia. The Davises are also still in contact with Auburn, which recently got involved after hiring coach Bruce Pearl.

Davis has yet to reschedule a planned unofficial trip to Vanderbilt, which was postponed due to a conflict.

He's due to visit Creighton May 2 and Arizona State May 9. Davis took two official visits, to Rice and Columbia, last fall.

Ginger Davis also mentioned a few other developments in her son's recruitment.

**New South Florida coach Orlando Antigua called last week to see if Davis would be interested in USF.

**Seton Hall assistant Shaheen Holloway did the same on Sunday night. It's not determined yet whether Davis will add either to his list.

**Davis just completed an official visit to Alabama. "The visit went very well, and he enjoyed his time with Coach (Anthony) Grant and his staff as well as his time with the team," Ginger Davis said.

**In case you missed it, Davis was named first-team All-State by The Courier-Journal on Sunday.

He's the son of former Kentucky player Jonathan Davis.  Kid can play, but many people think his family is more focused on picking a school based on academics versus basketball.

Lame. Academics are for suckers.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
