I don't understand where you keep coming up with this whole "winning means the P5 will recruit Cincy, UCONN and UCF".

Since we joined the BE, Cincy won 4 conference championships and UCONN won 2. Same as UL, more than Pitt and Rutgers. Cincy was the same as WVU.

It is so much more than just winning. Just saying if you win you will get an invite is very simplistic.

If Bortles and Johnson would have stayed on board and kept UCF in the public on for another year they may have been in the situation as UL. Now, even if they do well this year (which I don't expect) they are back to be confused with USF unless someone their emerges as a huge media presence and they stay on the natonal stage for another couple of years.

USif

15 returning starters, including 9 from Defense. BCS Bowl Champs & Top 10 Final Poll ranking, multiple Conference Championships, and ESPN NFL Draft Coverage for months about a future top 10 pick including Sportscenter segments live from UCF's Fieldhouse during Bortles Pro Day. I would say there is plenty of exposure that people that follow Football know who UCF or 'central florida is, Coach T will probably make the blogs with another cute commercial with the bus driver shirt

This is not a discussion about USF vs UCF. It is s discussion about expansion.

That being said, I don't know where you live, but outside of the I-4 corridor and hardcore football fans, I imagine that very few people can name even one returning starter for UCF this coming year.

As I travel around the country, people always get UCF and USF confused. Like it or not, from a brand perspective, neither school is highly recognized with any degree of signifance. Even the announcers get them confused.

Like Jay Moore the other day when he was talking about Masiello. Must have said UCF 10 times.

You want to talk about brand confusion. My co-worker... Cubicle mate who went to FIU or FAU (can't remeber which). Didnt seem to know USF existed and he just graduated a year ago. He thought the horn symbol (license plate on my car and tumbler I keep at work) were for Texas! That or he is just really good at playing dumb but that is by far the worst brand confusion I have experienced.

Considering we've played both a couple of times just recently.. he's full of BS (or doesn't follow their sports teams at all)

He has shown no university pride that I have seen, pretty sure it was FAU though.
