Former USF quarterback Matt Grothe, who has played sparingly this season, has been released by the Tampa Bay Storm, the Times' Brandon Wright reports. Grothe had gone 12-for-21 for 161 yards and three touchdowns in limited action this season -- before the season, the team foresaw a big enough role for him he was featured in advertising for the team.

Saw this coming when the signed that other QB last week. He has a full time job in Polk County, he'll be fine.

Would take him in heartbeat over what we have now and will have over the next two years. Can't argue with the fact he was the BE passing leader for a while and won USF its biggest games. I don't see how any one could argue otherwise. I am not calling him all world by any means, he is just the best in terms of what we have had and will have in the short term future.

Actually, he's the BEast all purpose yards leader. BJ should pass him this year.

Did he just not get an opportunity with the Storm? Would like to hear something from someone 'in the know'.
