OK well first post here on the bullspen.. I am wondering a friend of mine claimed that Texas came to USF and asked to play them before they went to UCF... Is this the truth? if so can u back it up with an article or something?

Texas came to USF FIRST.  They wanted a 1 for 2 (one here 2 at Texas).  The USF athletic director said home and home or nothing.

I say good for us, with teams like Auburn, Miami and other BCS schools willing to schedule 1 for 1's we don't need that kind of deal.

Texas offered USF a 2-1, we said no. Texas offered UCF a 2-1, they creamed their pants. Now guess who gets to get destroyed to break in their new stadium?

Sure about that?

I seem to remember several articles about Notre Dame playing USF in Tampa area papers (even though it was just a rumor), but I'm sure if Texas, this year's defending National Champion, gave USF an offer for ANY games...SOMEONE would of wrote about it.

What an idiotic move scheduling Texas as your first home game in a brand new stadium. I can not wait to go play at LONGHORN FIELD in 2008...... ;D

My only regret is that they didn't wait an extra year and schedule USF as their first home game, so that it would be BULLS STADIUM.

who cares?

we aren't ready for a team like Texas anyway.

and Auburn never offered a home and home with us-- we have a payday game with them and nothing more.

We were in discussions with Texas, Greg mentioned it in his blog.

It'd have been cool to see Grothe vs McCoy though...the top two Freshman QBs in the nation...in a few years.
