First: People will be really really upset and this board will melt down.
Next: Someone will mention how there is a small chance that 5-2 could still win the BE, so let's win out and also beat Miami.
Next: We have to go into a Bye with a loss (as always)
Next: We will lose to Louisville (if we lose to Temple, we will lose to UL for sure)
Next: There will be about 10,000 Bulls fans in the stands for the noon Syracuse (Homecoming) game.
The program will truly be circling the drain at that point.
Solution: Don't f-ing lose!

Having said that, we will play ball control, pound the ball with Murray and Lamar, and try to shorten the game. Exactly what we should not want to do as the better team.

Realistically, if we lose to Temple...

Under the scenario that we lose, you are being very generous.

better show up with the type of defensive effort we had against FSU -- in fact-- bring that every week. (that sounds dumb after giving up 30 points-- but some of that was special teams and of course the stupid turnover TD).
I will not be surprised if we find a way to lose this game though-- our team tends to play to the level of the competition. I want to think they can over come this stuff though.
If we get an early lead--- we sure as hell better keep attacking them. No more of this conservative crap.

He said that a "let down", from the FSU game (which I would hasten to point out was a LOSS) would not be unexpected, given that the guys don't know one another, etc.
Now, that doesn't sound very head-coach speak to me. If you're spinning this game as the reboot of the season and a chance to redeem the
season via conference play, I don't think you should be floating the expectation of the team not being "up" for Temple. Unless...unless...that was a subtle message
that the head coach is not able to jack up the voltage.
If we lose this game? I don't hold onto the "well, we could go 5-2" followed by "well, we could go 4-3", because it eventually winds up being ZERO-N-SEVEN.
A loss to Temple signals that this party is coming to an end early on. There is more than JUST a conference win at stake on Saturday.
