So not only are we getting UCF, we are getting a neutered UCF.....GREAT. can we offer FIU now, I think they have a better coach. It'd be better off this way!!

There's no knife big enough to neuter that juggernaut, they and, as a result, the BE, will be just peachy ...

Wouldn't be shocked to see UCF really get hammered by the NCAA tomorrow.

If the twittersphere is any indication, the momentum UCF built this summer could come to a screaching halt tomorrow with COI announcement.

Now that I think about it somemore, UCF coming in neutered is awesome!! Give them all hope early on the recruiting trail..... then let the NCAA ***** slap them into irrelevence and keep them off our coat tails for atleast 2-4 years.... By that time a 7-0 or a 9-0 all time record against them will make them look like OUR ***** even more than they already are. GAME...SET..... MATCH!!!!!! BWHAHAHAAHAA

Ok so 4 years is a bit much.... 2 it is.

Well Miami will now learn what the minimum they will receive and they know the maximum from the Penn State case. Shame they have to wait until next December.

I thought the timetable on NCAA infractions was a maximum of 1 year. So it better be December of 2012

The sanctions will be somewhere along the lines of the self-imposed, it looks like to me. Mostly basketball related...people just assume football will/should take the brunt, since it's football...but this was mostly basketball related. Although, it won't be pretty either way.

i'd prefer they start their sanctions in 2013...

it will be more than the self imposed... you are crazy... the self imposed ones are nothing... if the NCAA didn't add on a bunch then you'd basically be giving the rest of the country a free pass to act the same way as UCF... all you'd have to do is vacate a few wins and reduce some schollys

correct. the self imposed sanctions are the starting point, then they bring the pain.

We need teams coming in to the conference to be strong, not weak. This doesnt help the conferences case at all.

I don't think it'll be just the self-imposed...but I just think the brunt will be on the basketball end and they'll probably get a post season ban for a year or two, along with maybe another year probation or another year of a scholly removal. That's pretty rough. Everyone else wants to see the death penalty or something.
