Countryside's Mike Johnson gets USF offer

Countryside defensive back Michael Johnson has been offered a scholarship by the University of South Florida, according to Cougars' coach Jared Davis.
Johnson, who is 5-foot-10, 165 pounds and will be a junior this season, was a Times' second team all county selection as a sophomore.
He competed in last weekend's 7-on-7 Sling--Shoot in front of USF's coaches, and his performances, including a solid outing covering Jesuit standout and Miami commitment Travis Johnson, was impressive enough to help him earn his second offer. Johnson also has an offer from Iowa State.

Countryside 2014 CB, Mike Johnson visited South Florida today along with a few Countryside teammates. He expressed to BCP via text, that he really enjoyed the unofficial visit.

Johnson is the #2 ranked CB in the BCP coverage area behind Florida commit, Vernon Hargreaves. He holds verbal offers from Iowa State, Central Florida and received a verbal offer from South Florida Sunday of the 2012 July Sling and Shoot.
When asked how his visit went, Johnson replied “It was good, I liked it a lot.” At 6-0/175lbs, Johnson shows plenty of promise…very good footwork and improving cover skills. “It [USF] was better than what people make it out to be. It’s a pretty big school and I could see myself staying there 4-5 years. MIKE JOHNSON HILITES HERE

Agreed. We may not have the tradition - yet - but anyone putting our campus down is misleading people and/or hasn't been there in the last 15 years.

Now what we need are some of you that think you're up for it to take the torch and continue to MAKE tradition!
