I know a lot of people here are glad to see Schiano gone. But i think this is a great hire for them.

Being from Miami and seeing what Cristobal has done at FIU... I think he can accomplish more than Schiano did.
He took a team that had winless in their previous season to back to back bowls in his 4th year. And i dont blame him on his first year record, as it was more attributed to the previous coach.

Pluis he has already gained access to Miami area recruting.

As a USF fan, I would rather have Schiano at Rutgers than Cristobal.

As a Big East fan, he would be a great add to the Big East.

"I always said I wouldn't leave WKU unless I had a chance to go win a national championship. I truly believe that can get done here," Taggart said in a room packed with family and friends from his hometown of Palmetto. "It wasn't too long ago where USF was No. 2 in the country. It's been proven we can get there. ... My vision for our football program is to win multiple championships in a first-class manner."

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. ... Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like ... tears in rain. ... Time to die.

Looks like it's going to be Flood. To be honest, I was a little scared of Cristobal going to Rutgers. He's a heck of a coach, and could of done good things there. He would have been able to steal a lot of recruits from the state of Florida.

He is waiting on O'Leary to cash it in. Rutgers low balled him IMO, dumb move. Maybe a USF guy if Skip does not perform? Why leave this state with colleges " In Play". He probably wants to move south...to UM. I could be wrong...and probably am!

This is a good indicator that RU is not in bed with Big10 or ACC.

Otherwise they would not have been jilted by FIU head coach. They also would not have made a lowball offer.

Cristobal has a good thing going at FIU. Huge enrollment, building the program with his Miami pipelines. And the fact FIU is probably a lock to replace UCF in Conference USA when they recover their losses in 2013 means a little more exposure and improvement of the program. He could definitely be in USF's sights in the future, or UCF if they ever find a way to get rid of GOL.

do you really see FIU moving to CUSA, or CUSA having interest in them? I havent heard anything like that, and it would surprise me - FIU is a commuter school and there really isnt all that much interest or support (as far as D1A football goes) from their alumni, students, or community.

15th largest University in the US
And yes.. they are starting to build some support.

The difference in support between now and 5-10 years ago is HUGE.
I'm not saying that they are getting tons of support now.. but its increasing.

People are starting to believe in Cristobal... and now that its known he's turned down Rutgers to stay will rally more people behind him.
Kind of like how we know Leavitt LOVES USF with no doubt... people are getting the same from him in regards to FIU.

Plus their new Medical school, and their have some programs highly ranked... and location.
They are also becoming aggressive and outright competing against UMiami for students and progams...
I would say ConfUSA would DEFINITELY look their way.
