Southaven: Northwest players move up to 4-year programs

It was a big day for Northwest Mississippi Community College Ranger football players who signed to continue their playing days at NCAA programs on National Signing Day.
Three county players inked with D-1 programs, including Brandon Hunt , a wide receiver from Southaven who signed with the Memphis Tigers; Kevin Dowell, a kicker from Southaven who inked with Northwestern State; wide receiver Derrick Hassell from Southaven, who signed with Southern Arkansas; and, Timothy Jones, a defensive back and kick returner from Horn Lake, who signed with Marshall.
Other Rangers who signed on Wednesday are linebacker Roderick Brown with Southern Arkansas; running back Eldra Buckley with the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga; running back Greg Horton with Southern Arkansas; quarterback Lewis Kuffuor with Valdosta State; lineman Jess McDonald with Arkansas State; lineman Aylon Putt with Southeastern Louisiana; lineman Theodric Watson with the University of South Florida; and, defensive back Jonathan Webster with Arkansas Tech.
