2013 Football Prediction Contest

Game 2

Bulls vs. Michigan State Spartans

South_Florida.gifMichigan_St.gif

Due to the shortage of funds (and bad history of mailing out prizes), all potential prizes are suspended until further notice.  But please, participate nonetheless and have fun.

The Contest: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to select the winner for the week's USF football game - as well as make some tie-breaking prognostications. Prizes await, as does the respect and admiration of Bulls fans worldwide.

First...the rules:

1) You must be a registered member of this message board.
2) You must completely answer the contest questions.
3) Post must be submitted prior to published game start time.
4) There can be no modifications to your post after the published game start time.
5) Your prediction must be part of this original thread.

For additional contest rules, please read the small print below.

And now, the contest:

For the Bulls game against Michigan State on September 7, please select the following:

1) The winning team
2) The final score
3) Bulls leading rusher
4) Bulls leading receiver
5) Bulls total offensive yards (closest without going over)

Please try to keep in the above format so that it will be easier to manage. Sample response would be:

1) South Florida
2) 80-3
3) Marcus Shaw
4) Chris Dunkley
5) 450

After posting your entry, please feel free make your case for your picks, or predict other aspects of the game. It will make the thread much more entertaining if everyone gives their reasons for their picks, and make predictions on other aspects like special teams, rushing, or which QB will get the most PT.

The winner will be decided with the first and second prediction items. I am looking for the person that comes closest to the actual score, not simply the margin of victory. If more than one person is correct, or equally close, we'll go to item three. Closest wins. If still tied, we go to item four - if still tied, item 5. After that, whoever gives the best reasoning, and pre-game analysis wins.*

Prize for this game:

Prizes postponed

Good Luck!

*As with previous years' contests, Bulliever is the final judge on all entries. He will select the winner based on secret, pre-established criteria. All decisions are final.

Screw it. I've been moping around all week, but I think Saturday we will turn it around. I believe.

USF

17 - 13

Tice

Price

300

Floyd starts, but he gets a quick hook after giving up a pick 6 in the first quarter. Eveld comes in and manages the games and gets us a TD and a chip shot FG.Our defense holds the MSU offense to two field goals, and returns the favor with a score of their own. MSU goes through three QBs trying to figure out how to move the ball.

Everyone rages that this team didn't show up the week before. Rage turns to confusion about how we possible lost to McNeese.

I'm going to get on the optimist train today.  A win would really do our team good, and who knows, maybe they can dig deep and squeak one out.  Here's my prediction:

USF

24-23

Shaw

Welch

355

I can't vote against the Bulls... better to go down fighting then just give up.

USF wins with a final seconds field goal... big defensive game.
