the best D is a good, time-consuming offense.. their power running attack keeps their defense off the field and keeps them rested.

they sure have the formula, that's for sure.  so does Pitt, RU, and UC.  They all commit to the run and wear down our puny D-line.. of course, we don't adjust.  Id like to see something more similar to UConn's offense against UC last night.. although they didn't come up with the win, they got a hell of a lot closer than we did.

I'm just worried about a letdown in the cold after an emotional game against Miami.  Each game from here out is going to be up in the air.

USF did a great job at keeping UConn's star RB in check last year at home, but you are right that USF has had trouble at UCONN. UCONN has done a good job, but they also have some of the top facilities that are already in place that has helped them bring in the talent. Look, I just dont buy into these high school rivals rating or ESPN recruiting ratings when I see all these NFL players come out of programs like UConn and Cincy. I think some of you put too much stock into the ranking the recruiting classes. Leavitt and company are bringing in the best players possible to build our program which is still very young. 13 years is very young when you are talking about breaking life long family traditions of programs like UF, Miami, and FSU.

Offensively is where we have struggled lately with uconn.

About the PITT running attack and the comment that we stopped their running. Well its because stull was also like 11-11 with 130 yards passing at one point. So if we did happen to stop a few run plays there was a reason they passed all over us.

They are going to run the ball down our throats (see Dion Lewis) and it's going to get ugly. Their offensive linemen are mammoths.

Maybe we should just forfeit our next four games and save you the aggravation and embarassment.  Roll Eyes

How bout we wait and worry about UCONN, the week before we play UCONN. So much can happen in 3 weeks, especially injuries.

Howo is their pass defense?  The corners and safeties?  I haven't watched any of their games (just caught some of the Cincy game).

Actually, every game from here on out is a winnable.  It wouldn't shock me to sweep the rest of the season with Miami being the biggest question mark.  With Cincy and Pitt past us, I am not too worried.

A power running attack keeps the other defense more rested, too.  All running the ball more does is make the game clock run more.  A long drive with a passing attack can take just as much real life time as a running one.  Big plays can happen with either method.  Running the ball more just means the game takes less time.

Btw, UConn runs the spread now.
