I saw a note in an article about how tonight's Cincy-UConn game is the first game since 2005 featuring a Big East team to be played on ABC in primetime. The last one was Pitt vs. Notre Dame (not even a full-fledged conference game).

That's pretty hard to believe for a BCS conference. Just goes to show how little national exposure our conference gets. It really puts a damper on recruiting too. Should be interesting to see how the ratings are for this game.

well considering a good number of our good games end up on Thrusday and Friday nights, there isn't much for ABC to select from

Yeah exactly. BIG EAST has been scheduling their games on Thursday and Friday nights which is getting pretty good exposure. The WVUvsUSF game last Friday was the highest rated Friday night game so far this season. I expect that the WVUvsCincy game this Friday will beat our game as far as ratings go as the whole nation will want to watch undefeated Cincy. I would imagine if both Cincy and Pitt win out that the Dec 5 game will be prime time on ABC as well. We already know Pitt and ND will be on ABC prime time next Saturday. I think the BIG EAST has done a great job recruiting if you look at all the NFL players that have come out of the BIG EAST. People cant really believe all the rival recruiting rankings as most of those rankings seem to be biased towards what schools are recruiting them.

When was the Pitt/WVU game in '07 played? For some reason I was thinking that was an 8 pm ABC game

Pitt/WVU was ESPN.

The Big East doesn't pull the ratings on a Saturday that many of the more popular conferences do thus The reason for so many Thurs/Friday games when we can maximize converage

and the ABC games are usually regional coverage on Saturday nights, like last night. It was UCONN-Cincy, OU-Nebraska, and USC-ASU, with Florida-Vandy on ESPN, FSU-Clemson on the deuce, so basically any one west of the Mississippi didnt see the Big East game, but Thursdays and Fridays the entire nation sees the games..

Excellent point b/c I'm in TX and watched OU@NE on ABC, UCONN@Cincy on 360 & FSU@Clemson on one of the ESPN channels in the PIP split screen.

In 2007 the UConn USF game was on ABC regional coverage similar to the Cincy/UConn game this year.
